WHO WE ARE
Founded by Sula Jones (née Bailie) and her husband Oliver, Nice Bunch is an ethical floral design studio and flower farm. Based in Bath, Somerton, Somerset, and London, we are nature enthusiasts, collaborating to create bespoke compositions for installations, events, weddings and special bouquet orders.
OUR WORK
We cherish the bounty of the British countryside, which means our work is naturally, seasonally-inspired. Our world of inspiration appreciates fluttering wildflower meadows, plentiful country gardens, and the fun that comes with flower heads that bob and dance together in the breeze. So we bring together an abundance of colours and shapes from the natural world to create a textured, wild and playful aesthetic.
We endeavour to respect and preserve the natural habitat that surrounds us, which means we’re committed to being sustainable and having a positive impact on the environment. We source our flowers and plants locally, from chemical-free and organic growers wherever possible. If we do require flowers from abroad, we buy only from Europe and offset the carbon emissions associated with their travel. We will never fly in flowers. We reuse and recycle, compost our waste and avoid single-use items such as plastics.
FLOWER FARM
Our cutting garden is based in Compton Dundon, near Somerton in Somerset, providing seasonal flowers and foliage between April and October. Growing our own allows us to source from a more curated, delicate and scented crop featuring the organic shapes and variety of flowers that are the antithesis of the mass-produced, uniform products more widely available. We are chemical-free and pesticide-free.
We sell flowers and foliage to florists between April and October. We have several large beds and a poly tunnel. As the business grows, so too do our beds, so each winter we’re busy expanding our garden for the following year.
Please get in touch if you’d like to order flowers directly from our cutting garden.
SULA
Sula is Founder and Creative Director at Nice Bunch. An artist and a designer, she has a deep passion for the evocative beauty that flowers can bring. Having studied a Three-Dimensional Design degree and Classic Flower Design at the Covent Garden Academy of Flowers, Sula combines her skills to plan and create artisanal installations for her clients. Before setting up Nice Bunch, Sula freelanced on contracts and projects for luxury clients such as Dior, Harrods and The Ritz.
As career horticulturalists, Sula’s parents, Harisudha and Durgadas, have been and continue to be a source of inspiration and knowledge. Sula collaborates with them to find and grow rare and delicate beauties.
OLIVER
Oliver is Founder and Managing Director at Nice Bunch. Formerly working in advertising for accounts such as Waitrose, Olio and the United Nations, he has experience in complex projects and an interest in sustainability and ethics. A keen florist, he specialises in large-scale installations.
During his childhood, Summer was a time to treasure. Grandpa's carefully-prepared seedlings would burst into life as rows of manicured Marigolds, Sweet Peas and Dahlias would flourish and frame the garden paths. Flowers would flow from hanging baskets and the rose garden would burst into bloom. Memories of sitting together on their iron bench, drenched in the warm summer sun, amongst each year’s glorious blooms, remain inspirational to this day.
HARISUDHA & DURGADAS
As career horticulturalists, Sula’s parents are the bedrock of the cutting garden. Their knowledge, expertise and energy make sure our flowers have the best conditions in which to thrive.
